EMMA KUNZ

Recently I came across a Swiss outsider artist of the name Emma Kunz. Historically, outsider artists I believe have more of an impact on evolution in art than anything produced in the art industry or which is considered legitimate art. The reason being, they don’t have the regulations set forth by the industry and no expectations are placed on the creator so they may explore any direction they desire. In this case, Emma explored healing, symbolism in the form of time measurement and visual structures and telepathy. She excavated a certain type of natural mineral which she and many others still believe to hold strong healing powers. It is still found on the market even though it was first discovered in the 30’s. This is called Aion A.

Her artworks are now considered very important to the idea of human spirituality. They also hold a strong beauty because of their progressive nature. I fell in love with them straight away and I really hope you like them too.

If you want more information about her, visit the Emma Kunz centre website.

Secret Love Letters.

I don't know about you but I have never been good with words. I always get horrid nerves when I want to express somethnig so usually I use drawings to do the expressing for me. These are a few of my little love letters I do in my lunch break at work. They are of spirits which send my love to the person I most care about.

MIX MATCH- Making faces

So I have started to dedicate full pages in my visual journal to features so when I fell lost in how a monster character should look for a drawing, I will have a ready supply of options to work with. eg a page of eyes, a page of noses, a page of ears and so on. So far this is what I have done, a page dedicated to eyes.
