Concept for joint project

I'm doing a joint project with my cousin, her partner and a friend from my illustration course. we are all women and quite strong so it will be interesting to see the outcome and see whether or not that strongly effects our concept and final products.
so far, we have been toying around with the idea of the home and thinking we may try to deconstruct the simpified shapes and forms that create the idea of a house to create a pattern that reflects this. in the group, there are two illustrators and two sculptures so the process will be nicely split up, being the sculptures create the structures and forms and the illustrators decorate the exterior of the forms. If it all goes well, we will send off an application form for platform gallery for next year.

the night of the hunter

after watching the film the night of the hunter, i created an illustration for a project. it was such a moving film that as soon as i viewed the masterpiece i was compelled to research as much as i could about it.

i have decided after viewing this film to try to go through all of the re-released films by criterion collection and create illustrations for those that thrill me like the night of the hunter did.

Cedric Laquieze

I adore Cedric Laquieze's sculptures because of their beautiful creepiness. Anything that utilizes something to do with death in a decorative manner usually gets my attention.

Winnie Truong

i am a huge fan of hair. i love men with beards and as a female, i am quite jealous of the fact i cannot decorate the majority of  my face with scratchy fuzz. that is why these beautifully detailed images by Winnie Truong excite me more than most pictures. these images will help me develop my next body of work for the exhibition at no vacancy in feb.
